The Maui Butterfly Farm

Our guide, Danielle, was knowledgeable and fun. We visited with our 10 yr old granddaughter who liked holding the flowers for the butterflies to land on and holding the monarch butterflies. The tour was definite worth the time and money. As an added bonus, we received seed packets to start out our butterfly garden.

spendy but so worth it! My very curious outgoing six year old had all the questions and they were wonderful about answering and engaging with her excitement. A great hands on learning experience. My 4 year old wasn’t as into the learning bit but still had so much fun. 45 minutes was also the perfect amount of time, it didn’t drag on but also didn’t feel rushed. Mom and dad also enjoyed it!

The Maui Butterfly Farm is doing some good work. They are educating the public about butterflies and doing their part to raise monarch butterflies to help increase their numbers. Our guide Melissa was very knowledgeable about the butterflies and about their life cycles. She explained things in a way that all age groups could understand. There were some little kids in a family that was part of our group and she was very patient with them and did a lot to keep them interested and involved. The flowers around the place were also very beautiful. There's a produce stand next door selling fresh fruit so check that out while you are there.

The Butterfly Farm was a great experience. We got to see the different stages of the butterfly life. We especially enjoyed it when we got the butterflies to land on our finger or flower stems that we held. Amazing creatures! It's nice to support local Maui business.

This was a most wonderful experience. Our guide was so informative. She went out of her way to make sure the 6-year-old in our group had an experience she'll never forget. She took a lot of time with her to make sure butterflies came to her. She also went above and beyond by recognizing that one person in our group may need a chair and offered it to bring it into the "tents"for her to sit on. Highly recommend and well worth the time and the admission fee. Don't miss it if you're ever on Maui.
